Tyler is registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (#2886) and holds both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia.
Tyler has over twenty years experience working with children, youth, and families, and works collaboratively with clients to develop and attain their goals. His friendliness and relational style create a warm environment where individuals, couples, and families are safe to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
Tyler utilizes many of the proven methods found in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy while maintaining both Family Systems and Attachment perspectives. This ensures that families and individuals are known within their context and that changes made by an individual are sustainable within a family structure.
Tyler has spent a significant amount of time doing humanitarian work in various countries all over the world. This, along with being a part of the adoptive community, has created a love and respect of different cultures which he brings into his counselling.
Tyler was born and raised on the North Shore of Vancouver but has never owned a mountain bike. Regardless, he continues to happily live there with his wife and three children.
Jennifer is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and holds a Master of Counselling degree. She is also an educator and has vast experience teaching a diverse population. It was her 20 years working with immigrants, refugees, new citizens, and international students, hearing about their struggles and witnessing their resiliency that inspired her to become a clinical counsellor. She mainly works with individuals and groups to help clients overcome a variety of life challenges in a warm, non-judgmental, and supportive environment. She would like to help you build on your own strengths and find solutions to your challenges that fit your personal goals, lifestyle, beliefs, and culture.
Jennifer has training in several counselling modalities, but she mainly works from evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
Like Tyler, Jennifer was raised on the North Shore of Vancouver but has never owned a mountain bike or a snowboard. She is now a resident of Brentwood and is proud to serve her community. In her spare time, Jennifer spends as much time as possible with her family and friends at her family cabin on the Sunshine Coast where she can get away from the fast pace of the city and the construction in Brentwood. She looks forward to working with you.CONTACT JENNIFER
