Thank you for visiting my website. It takes a lot of courage to seek help and ask for what we need. There are lots of counselling options out there and it’s hard to know where to start. I believe you are at the right place.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and hold a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology degree and a Master of Counselling degree.
For over 20 years, I have been supporting individuals, couples, families, schools, and organizations. I take a compassionate, genuine, and respectful approach with clients, building trust along the way to make effective and long-lasting change.
When you come into my office in Burnaby (or as I like to call it my living room), you will be put at ease as we explore your concerns together. I will help you recognize and shift unhealthy patterns and make choices that are aligned with your values. You will gain insights into your life experiences and be encouraged to make solid changes to your life and relationships.
Although I work with a diverse clientele, I am known for helping couples. I have extensive experience with premarital counselling and couples counselling. Clients appreciate my ability to quickly assess the root causes of their relationship problems and provide practical and transformative skills to make long-term positive changes.
One of my passions is teaching about mental health and wellness. Over the years, I have led hundreds of pre-marital workshops and have regularly partnered with organizations throughout the Metro Vancouver area speaking about mental health related issues. This has earned me a reputation for being a trusted source for providing exceptional clinical service to the community.
I believe in empowering the next generation of therapists, and enjoy teaching and supervising Masters level students in counselling skills and theory. My approach is in creating a fun and safe learning environment that makes it easy to learn, make mistakes, and grow. One of my greatest joys is witnessing novice therapists develop personally and become master therapists over the years.
I’ve been certified in specialized evidence-based counselling approaches such as Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, Attachment-based Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy. My expertise and experience have helped me to achieve consistent success with clients.
Furthermore, I am a Certified Daring Way™️ Facilitator-Candidate for Brené Brown’s work on shame resilience, vulnerability, and courage. Further information is available at www.thedaringway.com.
