Therefore, Dr. Rukavina’s primary focus is for her clients to feel respected, supported, and hopeful about their healing. She does this through the intentional questions she asks and the comprehensive knowledge she shares. She then focuses on providing timely and effective care to her clients and their families.
As no individual or relationship is alike, Dr. Rukavina tailors her practice to the needs of her clients. She only uses treatment modalities that are based on scientific evidence to help her clients get the long-lasting changes they seek. Her approach is primarily rooted in the principles of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)* and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Her work is also heavily influenced by narrative, psychodynamic, systemic, cognitive behavioural and Adlerian approaches.
*EMDR intensives (half or full day sessions) available upon request and scheduled based on an initial 90-minute consultation appointment. These intensives offer clients an opportunity to speed up their therapeutic work, while potentially causing less disruption to their life.
