Laura is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree from the University of British Columbia, with a focus on clinical counselling.
Laura believes that we are not meant to do life alone. She is a warm, open-minded, and relational person who comes alongside others in their struggles. Laura enjoys helping clients find their voice, develop their sense of self, and take the next best step towards healing and wellness. She is passionate about social justice and building safe spaces that foster connection and belonging.
Laura has over 10 years’ experience as a Registered Social Worker. She has supported individuals struggling with various presenting issues including depression, anxiety, grief, loneliness, acute and chronic illness, ageing, relationship struggles, divorce, abuse, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and immigration and transition to a new country. In addition, Laura has over 17 years experience working with youth.
Laura’s therapeutic approach is based on evidence-based treatments including emotionally focused therapy, attachment theory, mindfulness, and family systems therapy. She is also a trauma informed Certified Expressive Arts Therapist. Laura offers the opportunity to explore movement and creative expression in her sessions, alongside talk therapy. No artistic experience is required. Laura provides the gifts of the arts to hold space for both our deepest suffering and greatest joy.
