Gloria is a Registered Psychologist and holds a Doctor of Psychology degree and a Master of Counselling degree.
For over 20 years, she has built a reputable practice that is based on highly professional, knowledgeable, and personable service. She offers evidence-based treatment for individuals, couples, families, schools, and organizations. Gloria takes a compassionate, genuine, and respectful approach with clients, developing trust to make effective and long-lasting change.
She believes that it takes courage to seek help and ask for what we need. When clients come into her office they immediately feel at ease, as they explore concerns together. Gloria helps people recognize and shift unhealthy patterns and make choices that are aligned with their values. They gain insights into their lived experiences and feel compelled to make solid changes to their life and relationships.
Gloria has appeared in media and news sources. She has lectured on and counselled in areas such as: grief, anger, depression, anxiety, bullying, leadership development, self-development, parenting, aging and retirement, communication skills, conflict resolution, family issues, cross-cultural relationships, mental health promotion, diversity, and workplace conflict.
Although she is knowledgeable in many areas, she is best known for her work with couples. Gloria has extensive experience leading premarital and marriage workshops and counselling couples. Clients appreciate her ability to quickly assess the root causes of their relationship problems and provide practical and transformative skills to make long-term positive changes.
One of Gloria’s passions is teaching about mental health and wellness. Over the years, she has delivered numerous presentations throughout Metro Vancouver. This has earned her a reputation for being a trusted source for providing exceptional clinical service to the community.
Gloria believes in developing the next generation of therapists, and enjoys teaching and supervising Masters level counselling students. This includes her work as an Adjunct Professor and a Field Instructor for the University of British Columbia, a supervisor for Trinity Western University students, and consultant to therapists in private practice. She creates a fun and engaging environment that makes learning easy. One of her greatest joys is witnessing novice therapists grow and become master therapists over time.
Gloria is certified in specialized evidence-based counselling approaches such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, Attachment-based Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy. Her expertise and diverse experience have helped her to achieve consistent therapeutic success with clients.
