We all feel shame from time to time but none of us want to talk about. Shame is one of those emotions that we’d rather keep to ourselves. Although we feel stuck and small when we’re in shame, we would rather crawl into a ball and hide than reveal our shame to the world!
The ironic thing about shame is that the more we keep it a secret, the more it grows and festers in our life. On the contrary, talking about shame releases the toxicity it carries and helps us feel freer and happier.
So how do we talk about shame if we don’t want to talk about it?
In my e-book, 10 Ways to Conquer Shame: How to Overcome the Feeling That You Don’t Matter, You’re Unworthy or Not Good Enough, I share 10 proven strategies to help you overcome the feeling of shame. If you work to incorporate these methods into your life, you’ll feel better about yourself and have a more joyful and fulfilling life.
These practices are based on the groups that I offer at Brentwood Counselling Centre. The Daring Greatly™ and the Rising Strong™ groups are founded on the powerful and ground-breaking research of Dr. Brené Brown. They are highly interactive workshops that focus on developing core skills to live bravely and cultivate meaningful connections.
In these courses, you learn how to conquer shame; to quiet your inner critic, embrace your imperfections, and practice courage that allow you to become more authentic, vulnerable, and connected to others.
These unique curricula are designed to help you own your stories of struggle instead of avoid them or feel stuck in the struggle. You learn practical and life changing skills of resilience; getting back up after failure, disappointment, and loss.
This wholehearted living transforms the way you live, love, parent, and lead.
